Timber

We use selected first grade timber for all of our playground equipment and outdoor classrooms from sustainable commercial plantations.  At least 70% sourced from forests independently certified under the Forest Stewardship Council.

Timbers are cut free of the heart of the log and square sawn with chamfered edges. All timbers are pressure impregnated with a chrome and arsenic free preservative which protects against decay and insect attack for twenty years.

Horizontal timbers are secured on top of uprights by way of custom made brackets to maximise the load bearing capacity. All end grains are capped to prevent moisture entering exposed uprights as well as covering roughened grain.

Steel

All steel components are either Hot Dip Galvanised or shot blasted  then etched and electro statically powder coated to EN45011. The image shows the state of the art powder coating facility used on ranges such as workOUT outdoor gym equipment.

All components such as swing fastenings are hop dip galzanised to protect them from corrosion.

All slides are stainless steel to ensure they do not rust and maintain their aesthetic finish  over time. All welds cleaned, dressed and fully polished to give the slides their finishing touches and of course make them "slide" perfectly.

Panels & Roofs

High Density self coloured polyethylene panels known as Playtec is used on side panels and roofs or half machine rounded timber secured to a steel frame. 

Playtec is graffiti and vandal resistant and will not fade in sunlight. Patterns and logos can also be added.

Fastenings

Tamper proof recessed mushroom head, which do not require capping.  These fastenings are used to cover any exposed nuts or bolts on all of our equipment.

Ropes & Nets

Multi-filament steel core ropes secured are used.  The steel core ensures that the ropes remained tensioned and is substantially stronger than traditional rope. The steel core also makes them resistant to vandalism.

The image to the left shows the internal view of the Multi-Filanment  steel core rope.

The multi-filament ropes are then secured with hydraulically pressed end connections and custom made tamper proof net joints.

Floors & Ramps

Incorporating an embossed surface and high grip compond to provide a slip resistant finish.

Springs

Coils designed not to compress and cause entrapment under load.

Chains

Small Link galvanised chain ensuring that finger traps are not created between the chain.

Swing Seats

Rubber sided with honeycomb construction for maximum impact absorption.

The under side of the seat with the honeycomb construction and metal plate to provide extra rigidity and support.
