TigerMulch is a truly exceptional product that is made from 100% recycled truck tyres that have been shredded and coloured to resemble natural woodchip. Combined with a specially formulated Polyurethane resin binder means that visually TigerMulch looks like natural woodchip playground surfacing that blends perfectly with its natural surroundings. It is not until you get up close to Tiger Mulch or walk on it do you realise that the bonded rubber mulch is very different to woodchip and indeed shares all the safety characteristics of a traditional synthetic playground safety surface whilst uniquely offering many additional benefits making it a truly cost effective and low carbon environmental solution.
Tiger Mulch can be used for a variety of applications including Playground Safer Surfacing and Landscaping.
Tiger Mulch has been tested fully in accordance with BSEN1177 and BS 7188 and achieved a critical fall height of 3m.
The non slip characteristics of Tiger Mulch make it an ideal choice for playgrounds and footpaths.
Vandal Resistant -the bonded formulation gives the appearance of woodchip but the solidly bonded rubber mulch ensures that it will always be free from glass and other potentially harmful materials that, if in wood chip may
not be visible.
Multiple Purpose cost effective and virtually maintenance free surface
One of the most impressive attributes of Tiger Mulch is the minimal amount of ground preparation required prior installation making Tiger Mulch a cost effective alternative to other playground surfaces.
Unlike other surfaces TigerMulch can be laid on to most surfaces without the need for a stone sub base and only requires minimal prior preparation including removal of turf or top soil to a depth of 40 mm and the laying of a geo textile membrane.
As well as the obvious cost savings the negligible ground preparation also greatly reduces the environmental cost of quarrying and transporting stone bases and the equally environmentally damaging removal of excavated earth.
Tiger Mulch blends perfectly with the surrounding environment and the formulation allows for and accommodates tree growth.
Unlike other playground surfaces Tiger Mulch does not require expensive edging and can be butted right up against grass and other surfaces including Tarmac and Wetpour seamlessly without the risk of shrinkage or cracking which is a common problem with other rubber surfacing.
TigerMulch can be used in a variety of ways including erosion control, under outdoor play equipment as well as under park benches and is great as a footpath surface.
Laid to a depth of 50 mm will make footpaths and other potentially muddy and dirty areas clean and virtually maintenance free whilst importantly maintaining a natural appearance.
The formulation of the resin component of Tiger Mulch also ensures that will not rot or degrade.

Environmental Credentials
The rubber component of Tiger Mulch is made from 100% recycled truck tyres combined with the special resin means that 85% of the product by weight is recycled.
The recycling process used in the manufacture of Tiger Mulch is simple but also highly effective and combined with minimal amount of prior ground preparation ensures that the overall carbon footprint and long term environmental impact of the product is considerably lower than that of other similar playground surfaces.
Bio Pegs are used in the laying of the Geo textile membrane prior to the laying of the Tiger Mulch which will quickly and safely bio degrade. (Bio Pegs are simply used to pin down the special Geo-Textile membrane and are not required once the Tiger Mulch has been laid on top).
