Teachers Area

This section is aimed directly at teachers wanting information on outdoor play equipment for schools.

Creative Play design, manufacture and install playground equipment in hundreds of school playgrounds throughout the UK every year.  We have a dedicated team of Playground Advisors who are here to listen to your needs and create a playground that is perfect for you.

Our Play Advisors will come to your school, meet with you and the school council if necessary, measure up your available space and discuss your requirements.  From there our quotations department will create a full proposal for you including costings, pictures, ground plans and 3D images of your playground.

Our service doesn't finish there; the Play Advisor will discuss your quotation with you and decide where we go next, if you have any questions we are always happy to help.
Once the order is placed our committed Installation team look after your order, including arranging a pre-installation playground survey by one of our in-house trained site supervisors, the organization of your play equipment delivery, the installation of your new outdoor play equipment, right through to the post-installation inspection.

Wales PE scheme gets pupils in fitness routine
Monday 6th April 2009

Almost all secondaries in Wales have signed up to a scheme to give pupils an hour of sport and physical activity five times a week.
The Sports Council for Wales's 5X60 scheme, launched in 2006 with £7.6 million of Assembly government funding, now runs in 218 secondaries - 98 per cent of the total - it was announced last week.
Each school has an additional member of staff to organize extra-curricular activities.  Richard Bailey, Professor of sport and education at Birmingham University, said the scheme's success showed Wales was leading the way in improving exercise amongst children.
"It's very impressive indeed" he said.  "England and Scotland are nowhere near that."  But he warned that disadvantaged pupils could still be missing out on exercise as many have no access to extra-curricular activities.
"School is the only environment where all pupils can access these opportunities," he said.  "If this is the first step towards entitlement for everyone to 60 minutes of daily exercise within school, then it's a great start and a really important policy aspiration."
The 5X60 scheme will be piloted in special schools later this year.

Keep your children busy!

30th March 2009
Remember to check out our Kids Zone.  This area has a great feature where children can design their own playground.  It'll keep them busy for hours and also give them a sense of achievement and ownership as they get to decide exactly what they would want in their playground.  If you need any advice please contact our Play Advisors on 01244 375 627.

We are constantly reading information that we feel may be relevant to outdoor play equipment, school playgrounds or anything else of interest.  From last weeks Times Education Supplement we found this interesting article regarding children and exercise.  Here at Creative Play we think exercise is so important especially in children and found this very interesting.  Read the latest article taken from TES about children and exercise here...

Achieve Healthy Schools Status...

Creative Play can help your school achieve healthy school status.  A huge part of children being healthy is of course the exercise they do.  Here at Creative Play we strongly believe a child’s playground should play a big role in them being active.  There are many ways in which to get children running around and being active.  Some activities need nothing other than a playground, for example tag, but outdoor play equipment really adds play value to a children's outdoor area.  Contact one of our Play Advisors for advice or browse through all our children's outdoor play equipment.
